Back to the Future

Check out this photographer Irina Werning
He has asked for people to send in an old childhood photo so he can reproduce the exact pose & surroundings... such a fun idea

Polished Concrete & Rendered Brick

My two favorite building techniques at the moment, Im still trying to source the best paint to use to cover the old bricks in my unit.
I love this open plan bathroom too with the extra large arched windows & sectional basin wall. Could imagine the indoor plants being hard to maintain but looks great

Photo Booths

I think it would be a great idea to have a type of photo booth setup at your reception, people have so much fun with these & you don't have to hire a proper booth to get the same effect. You can set up an area with decorations & sheet backdrops & a camera with a remote or timer

Primary School Sweethearts

I think its cute that this couple has incorporated some school props & ideas to relate back to when they met in Yr5. The notepad would be a hit, & be cute to store in a school binder when everyone had wrote their little wishes
Not too sure if I would want my Yr5 photo displayed at my wedding though eek

Food Fashion Friends

I was really hungry when I got home from work today & with nothing left in the fridge & only dried food in the cupboard, I jumped off the lounge & grabbed a book that always gets my imagination running & my taste buds roaring. A book I got for Christmas of my muma, Food Fashion Friends by Fleur Wood
Although a lot of the menu & styling is so beautiful & extravagant, most of it could only be as great if I had a stack of cash to be able to get my hands on all the amazing props she uses, It would also be handy to have a famous chef as a BFF (Mat Moran) but it has given me some great ideas for having people over for a special dinner, or organising a special gathering for someone
You can buy this book in most book stores for $60 or online from here

I still love letterpress

Yet another example of a great letterpress design this is a bit more playful.
The gradient of lime & tangerine make a good combo this one from is julia kostreva

Very Cool Hair

I would probably have the guts to do this two-tone dip die hair colour if I was still in high school. I think its grunge but still very cool & fashionable
The new model from the 2011 bec&bridge collection

A Soft Setting

What a lovely table setting for a country or whismical wedding or dinner party.
I love the wooden flower boxes & light pink & white floral arrangement

Cute as a Button

Found a fun little project for handmade fabric bouquets:

Supplies needed:
Assorted Fabrics
Felt
Assorted buttons
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Floral wire
Thread
Needle

1. Cut out from cardboard some template circles
then trace their profile on your chosen fabrics.
2. Cut all fabric circles.
3.Sew around the edge of each circle, pulling the thread and once you have obtained a ruffled closed circle cut the thread and knot it.
4. Choose cute buttons and glue to the front of your flower.
5. Cut enough pieces of floral wire (about 30 cm long) and bend them in two half. Then bend the ends. Then add some hot glue on the back of a flower and then glue the wire on it and add a piece of felt to keep it steady.
Special thanks to Almalu’s Place for this great idea

A Tissue A Tissue – Homemade Pom Poms

This decorating idea would be great for a kids party or room, casual wedding or a special dinner party

Directions:
1. Stack eight 20-by-30-inch sheets of tissue. Make 1 1/2 inchwide  folds, creasing with each fold.
2. Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire in half, and slip over center of folded tissue; twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes.
3. Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.
4. Tie a length of fishing line  for hanging.

Pastel Pose

I love this style of photography I guess the subjects help a lot but the soft over exposed lighting & saturated colour really appeals to me. It adds a real vintage feel, very 60's
These images come from a US Photographer called Gabrielle Kai, buy her prints from here

Came across the most adorable store today, probably makes a lot of sense being linked to Anthropologie & Urban Outfitters, the store has the most unique styles I've seen in long time.
Here is their HQ in the US & some pics of my fave garments & accessories from the store.
